April 15, 2014Japanese Government Scholarship for 2015
The Embassy of Japan in the Kingdom of Bahrain is pleased to invite interested Bahraini students who wish to study various fields at Japanese universities as "Undergraduate Students" and "Research Students (postgraduate students)" to apply for MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) Scholarship for 2015. The Japanese Government Scholarship Program, which was established in 1954, was created in order to increase mutual understanding between the people of Japan and other countries as well as to make an international contribution to the intellectual field. The scholarship benefits include air fees between Bahrain and Japan, tuition fees and a monthly allowance. Applicants for "Undergraduate Students" must have been born between April 2, 1993 and April 1, 1998, and also must have completed a 12-year school education. (Any applicants who have the above qualifications by March, 2015 are also included.) "Research Students" must have been born on or after April 2, 1980. The term of the scholarship is as follows:
If the Grantee enrolls in a master's course, doctoral course, or professional graduate course after arriving in Japan, regardless of the time of his/her arrival in Japan; the scholarship will be payable for a period necessary for the Grantee to complete his/her regular course (standard course term). (Plus a 6-month Japanese language training period for the Grantee who requires such training.)
All requested documents must be submitted to the following organizations before the following date.
- Undergraduate Students : 22nd May 2014 (Submit to the Ministry of Education only)
This program has benefited 92,000 students from approximately 160 countries and regions around world until 1st May, 2011. Around 30 Bahraini students have been given opportunities to study at Japanese universities, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education of the Kingdom of Bahrain since 1994. Currently, five Bahraini students are studying in Japan.
