The Security Lecture “New Security Dynamics in East Asia: Japan’s Expanding Strategic Portfolio” organized by Embassy of Japan and International Institute for Strategic Studies

On the 3rd of November 2016, Embassy of Japan in cooperation with International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) Middle East hosted a lecture on security entitled “New Security Dynamics in East Asia: Japan’s Expanding Strategic Portfolio”, presented by Dr. Ken Jimbo, Associate Professor, Faculty of Policy Management, Keio University. In this session, Governmental officials, diplomatic missions, businesspersons and security experts have attended.

Dr. Jimbo explained the security situation in East Asia and circumstance surrounding Japan and the audience could understand the clear explanation by Dr. Jimbo. Then, the Q&A session became a heated and productive debate, and a lot of questions about Japanese security policy and current situation in East Asia were asked by the audience. In the beginning of session, H.E. Mr. Kiyoshi Asako, Ambassador of Japan to Kingdom of Bahrain had his opening speech; accordingly chaired by Sir John Jenkins, Executive Director of IISS-Middle East.
