H.E. Ms. OKAI Asako, the newly appointed Ambassador of Japan to the Kingdom of Bahrain Arrived

2023/12/3

Greeting from Ambassador OKAI Asako

 Ambassador OKAI Asako
Marhaba, my name is Asako OKAI, the new Ambassador of Japan to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

I feel very privileged and honoured to serve in this new capacity, as I learn more and more of rich history, culture and society of Bahraini people.

The friendship between Japan and the Kingdom of Bahrain celebrated the 50th anniversary last year. Building on these well-established relations, I am thrilled and committed to further strengthen closer ties between our two nations.

In particular, there are great potentials to expand and diversify relations in all fronts in many ways, including trade & investment, through innovation, science and technology, and collaboration in the aerospace exploration.  Archeological excavation, tourism, culture, and food are another areas that I look forward to further promote.

I spent the last 5 years serving in the United Nations Development Programme, a lead agency in the UN supporting the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals, which are unfortunately largely off-track. I came to hold a firm belief that the only way to rescue the People and the Planet, is that the nations join hands to seek solutions amidst compounding crises and challenges, be it the war, and be it devastating impact induced by climate change and pandemics,
I am confident that Bahrain and Japan will be great partners to lead the world for the better with enduring positive impact.

To support these endeavours, I decided to make my Embassy more approachable and more open to the people of Bahrain and elsewhere. Thus we are launching Instagram and Facebook accounts now. Please join and follow-us as we strengthen our partnerships.

I look forward to engaging with all of you and contributing to our shared journey ahead.
