His Majesty the Emperor's Birthday Reception

Welcome Greetings (Dr. Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs)
 On March 5th, Ambassador Okai hosted a reception to commemorate the 64th birthday of the Emperor of Japan. Among the more than 400 distinguished guests were H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Governor of the Southern Governorate, H.E. Dr. Abdullatif Al Zayani, Foreign Minister, H.E. Mr. Ebrahim Al Hawaj, Minister of Works, H.E. Mr. Ali bin Shaikah Al Asfoor, Governor of the Northern Governorate, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Bahzao, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and H.E. Mr. Marwan Fouad Kamal, Undersecretary of Ministry of Youth.
 
In her opening remarks, Ambassador Okai highlighted a growing significance of bilateral relations amidst the changing regional and international landscape. She cited examples of Japan-Bahrain collaboration that  has  grown into a comprehensive partnership in recent years.
 
At the event, Sushi, Tempura and dishes using Japanese seafood such as Hokkaido scallops and Shinshu salmon were served accompanied by live demonstration by the chef of Ambassador. There was also a tea ceremony introduction by a Bahraini tea master and a wagashi making demonstration. Japanese cars and flower arrangements by members of the Bahrain Garden Club were on display throughout the venue, adding to the festive ambiance.
