 On 28 June, a ceremony was held at Darseen Café, Bahrain National Museum, celebrating the Japanese cuisine and the appointment of Ms. Budoor Steele, Founder of “Chawan” Japanese tea house, as Bahrain’s first “Japanese Cuisine Goodwill Ambassador”.
 Following the official announcement and certificate presentation by Ambassador Okai, Ms. Budoor expressed her aspirations to earnestly continue to spread and promote the Japanese tradition and culture in Bahrain and the world through tea, tea ceremony, and cuisine.
 The Ambassador hailed Ms. Budoor’s achievements, expressing unwavering support to assist her throughout her journey to share the unique philosophy and artistry of the Japanese tea culture, along with the other various schemes for the promotion of Japanese food.
 Attendees of the event included an elite of Bahraini food industry leaders, Japanese restaurants’ owners, chefs, and other special guests, who had the opportunity to celebrate this remarkable achievement and highlight the role of food as a bridge between different cultures.
 The ceremony included tasting and sampling of tea and unique products from Japan’s Shizouka Prefecture, the largest producer of tea in Japan. In addition, Chirashi-zushi cups were served, specially tailored by the Ambassador’s chef for the accompanying Tanabata Festival, providing the guests with an unforgettable experience.
