Dr. Abdulrahman A. Hussain Jawahery (Former President of GPIC) Awarded with Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendation

 On November 17, the Japanese Embassy held an award ceremony for the Foreign Minister's Commendation for Dr. Abdulrahman A. Jawahery, Former President of GPIC (current CEO of Bapco Refining).
 
Ambassador Okai conferred the Foreign Minister's Commendation to Mr. Jawahery in recognition of his remarkable achievements in promoting Japanese culture in Bahrain, which is represented by the establishment of the Bahrain-Japan Friendship Garden. The Ambassador also refered to Dr. Jawahery's contribution in strengthening the corporation between GPIC and Japanese companies through a number of initiatives including the introduction of carbon dioxide capture technology developed by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.

After expressing his gratitude for receiving the Commendation, Dr. Jawahery said that he will keep contributing to the further development of the strong bilateral relations referring to the fact that Japan is the first country that imported crude oil from Bahrain in 1932.
 
More than 140 guests enjoyed the hospiality, including the temari sushi (round-shaped small sushi) prepared by the Ambassador’s chef and his wife, and shared congratulatory moments with Dr. Jawahery and his family.
