The Embassy of Japan in Bahrain is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic SNS & Public Relations Specialist to join our team. This new position places a strong emphasis on social media management and strategy, reflecting the Embassy’s commitment to strengthening its digital presence and public engagement. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Embassy’s official social media accounts, monitoring trends, and enhancing the Embassy’s communications and public relations efforts to further Japan-Bahrain relations.

1. Job Summary
The SNS & Public Relations Specialist will work closely with existing Embassy staff under the Economic, Public Relations, and Cultural Affairs Section, focusing primarily on social media management and digital communications. The specialist will act as the key focal point for the Embassy’s SNS activities, while supporting broader communications and public relations initiatives as required.
(1)Key Responsibilities of the SNS & Public Relations Specialist :
This section deals with inter-connected matters related to promotion of economic relations, culture, tourism, people-to-people exchange between Bahrain and Japan, while enhancing communication and public relations efforts for the embassy.
This section plays a key role in promoting economic relations, trade & investment, through various initiatives such as organizing networking events, hosting seminars and workshops. It also conducts research and analysis on economic and market matters and collaborate with relevant ministries, agencies, and stakeholders. It also promotes cultural understanding through events and exhibitions, strengthens ties with local cultural organizations and educational institutions, and disseminates information about Japanese culture and language. It also aims to promote inbound tourism to Japan and build relationships with local travel agencies.
2. Period of Employment:
Full-time position. One-year contract(extendable), commencing February 1, 2026 (TBD). Probationary period of three months.

- Lead the management and strategic development of the Embassy’s official social media platforms.
- Develop, create, and post engaging digital content tailored to target audiences, including during non-standard working hours as required.
- Monitor social media trends, news cycles, and relevant topics on a daily basis; respond promptly to emerging issues and opportunities.
- Analyze and report on audience engagement, reach, and effectiveness of SNS campaigns; provide recommendations for improvement.
- Coordinate and collaborate with local media, influencers, and partners to maximize visibility and impact.
- Support the planning, promotion, and execution of Embassy events and initiatives, including cultural, educational, and economic programs.
- Uphold the Embassy’s brand and messaging across digital channels.
- Work as a team with Embassy staff to enhance overall public relations and outreach.
- Contribute creative ideas to increase engagement and foster positive relations between Japan and Bahrain.

3. Requirements/Qualifications:
- Valid residence permit status in Bahrain (CPR).
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Demonstrated experience managing corporate or organizational social media accounts professionally.
- Deep familiarity with social media platforms, tools, and analytics.
- Ability and willingness to monitor and respond to SNS activity outside standard working hours; overtime will be considered.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic; proficiency in Japanese is an advantage.
- Sensitivity to trends and ability to adapt content quickly.
- Work experience in public relations, communications, digital marketing, or related fields preferred.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with ability to prioritize.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity.
4. Working Conditions:
- Location: Embassy of Japan, Manama, Bahrain (in-person).
- Working Hours: 7:30–14:30, Sunday–Thursday (except Embassy holidays).
- Salary: Determined based on skills and experience.
- Benefits: Social security, annual paid leave, and other benefits in accordance with Embassy rules.
